Smaller is Better
We are all collectively rejoicing at the idea of a new year. Along with high hopes for 2021 this Gold Coast wedding photographer is super excited for the new wedding trends emerging.
Let’s look at some of the wedding trends for 2021 that I can’t wait to photograph or document through video.
Small Weddings And Elopements
Micro weddings or small intimate weddings are on the rise due to Covid. It has been a sad and heartbreaking year for brides and grooms who have had to reduce the guest list drastically. But, also there are some positives to having a small wedding.
With just your nearest and dearest at the wedding, there is a very intimate vibe that can’t be achieved with large weddings. Ceremonies are becoming more sacred and personal as everyone is up close and personal as the couple exchanges their vows. This is a beautiful thing to see.
Elopements are also booming with many couples running away to tie the knot somewhere close to home, yet gorgeous. When it’s just the two of you the venue options become endless. Mountain tops, caves, yachts and private gardens are all on the list of possible wedding venues.
Cakes are becoming the new bouquet. But the cake doesn’t have to be a huge 3-tiered creation.
Instead, the cakes are small but styled to perfection. A single-tied cake will sit sweetly on a cake stand that is decorated with flowers and greenery and sometimes a backdrop that is specially prepared for the wedding cake. A cake topper is essential and calligraphy fonts will appear again this coming season along with simple, understated designs.
Inside the flavors will remain mouthwateringly exotic and delectable. The classic chocolate cake is jazzed up with flavors names like chocolate raspberry truffle cake, sultry chocolate cake and chocolate coffee cream. It kind of makes you consider a double-tiered cake just to try two of the gorgeous flavors doesn’t it?
Many brides fall in love with wedding decor ideas that are a bit out of the budget. Lighting can be super expensive. But if you are having a small wedding it suddenly becomes much more affordable. It makes sense to invest in some dreamy and elaborate hanging lighting as you are celebrating at the dinner table for many hours.
